No it won't work also with the 1st gen subframe. You could however be able to easily adapt a 2nd Gen subframe to be able to use this style of diff.

so correct me if im wrong but ur saying the pinion gear will hit the diff housing if thats the only thing stopping it from working i feel like it coujld be machined out. it cant be to much bigger were talking from 2.65 to 2.47 is the price still 325 and please explain what needs to be done to make this work

Truthfully, I don't really know what problems you are going to have. I have read in several forums that the carrier is specific to a range of ring gears and the casings are specific as well like 210mm 2.24 and 2.47 is in one family, 210mm 2.65, 3.07, and 3.08 is in another family and etc. I may suspect one issue maybe where the ring gear is located on the axis and of course there maybe other issues. I had someone do the work to get a 190 16v 3.27 LSD in a 3.69 w123 style case. But the two pinion bearings were thicker and larger. Perhaps some machining would of fixed the problem. But I wasn't prepared to spend over my budget.

The price has been lowered for Forum Members to $175 plus shipping. If you do go through this exercise, I love to see you post your findings and results.
