Actual Oil Pressure
Actual Oil Pressure
Thought y'all might find this interesting. I just installed an Auto Meter mechanical oil pressure gauge in my wagon with a scale of 0-100 psi.
These are the readings I'm getting.
(Yah, I know there's not actually a throttle.)
Hot:
Idle: 25 psi
Just above idle (1000 ish RPM): 40 psi
Mid throttle (2000-3000 RPM): 60 psi
Hard throttle (4000+ RPM): 80-90 psi
Cold:
Idle: 40 psi
Just above idle (1000-1500 RPM): 80 psi
Mid throttle (2000-3000 RPM): 100+ psi
Hard throttle (4000+ RPM): Haven't gone there!
Almost forgot to mention, this is measured through a fitting drilled into the top of the oil filter housing.

Low? Those seemed pretty good to me. Forced, the description of your fitting location leaves me a bit confused. Please give more detail.
I drilled my fitting in the spot shown in the attached photo where the pressure sender is located, not dead center. Was this not the ideal place to put it? (Note: Photo is not my car.)
