Hey guys have a brand new 606 oil filter from the dealership. Looking to get $10 for th filter. Guy gave me the wrong filter needed a 603 filter.

I have a 95 E300D (606) and a 87 300TD (603) and both of them use the same filter

It is, the last time i bought a 603 filter had a metal top, with a little hanger to pull the filter out. Looks like this.

Does that mean that the newer 606 filter will fit the 603 as well.

If so maybe that's why the parts guy kept on having that filter come up.
