W201 2.5D pump with pneumatic idle speed
W201 2.5D pump with pneumatic idle speed
I have 190D 2.5 from 1986.
The fp uses a vacuum to increase the idle on cold start.
Now i wanted to convert to ELR to use an electronic idle speed.
Is it possible to change my pump to ELR? without removing the pump from the engine/or it has to be recalibrated?
Why i want to change, i can maybe buy a cheap 2.5D from 1988 with airco, and i want to put the airco in mine car. So far i know a airco diesel always uses ELR to control the engine RPM.

if this is the only reason... forget it and stay with the vac idle.
Many people would not even recognise if the ELR is dead.
The only way to do the job is to change the entire governor -- IP out and calibration on a benck before installing.
