What is a reasonable price for an actual flywheel for a 300D (the 38lb one) and new clutch, pressure plate, and T/O bearing? Talking w123 here
Thanks!
I have seen the 300D flywheel for the manual trans (35-39 pounder) consistently be marketed at $350.00 USD plus shipping. I suspect the shipping will be under $50.00 in CONUS. Not sure that is what folks actually get for them, but that seems to be the "universal" price tag.
larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?
The cost difference would drive me to a junkyard 240 flywheel.

Is there a big difference between the 2 ? I thought the 300D heavy deal was the only way to go ? I know the automatic trans flywheel is a pip squeek compared to the 300D manual ...

I've never handled either, but the 240 Manual flywheel is something like 25lbs. It can work, some have reported vibrations in the driveline.
I'm supposedly(time permitting) swapping from a 22lb to an 11lb FW on my gas DD, I will have definite answers come the end of October about flywheel weight and acceleration/ smoothness. OT: I'm psyched: the headers, e-fan, lightweight clutch, partial bellypan, and new exhaust should make my truck feel like it actually has 112hp. I'll be doing 0-60 runs before and after each mod with a copilot taping the tach/speedo

240 manual is about 28, 300 manual is about 38. I already have a 240 one, and have a chance to get a 300 one with a new clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing for $450 from a guy in town so shipping cost will be zero. I know I am probably going to be needing two manual flywheels, one for my manual swap, and one for my new mercedes diesel into ford ranger project I plan on starting in the next couple weeks. So if $350 is the going rate on just the flywheel, it seems like $450 is a pretty sweet deal for it to come with a new clutch and pressure plate
