I was cleaning it a little bit and I don't live far from Performance Techniques and wanted to call to get a quote on what it would be to do the .60 trim conversion to it but I don't want to be guessing if its a KKK26 or a GARRETT T3 or some other brand used. Is it normal for the engine to shake a lot until you spool it up?

Garrett T3. Clean off that oil and you will see on the housing. Ask CaptanAmerica about going to .60 trim. Performance Techniques did it for him.

Not much point in a 60 trim, more likely to surge and the 45 trim stock can handle all the boost/flow the engine can take. People have run them up to 25psi without any reports of exploding compressors (but who would report they blew up their turbo doing something dumb.....)

i would , id think id be rather pleased if i could blow up a compressor housing Smile
Capt , even posted boost maps for the 60 trim housing in the turbo tread

I'm pretty sure there is a good number of people who have gone 60 trim with no issue. Cant wait for mine to come in the mail. :-)

You shouldn't shake ever. A mild vibration at idle, nothing more. Check your valves, injector pop, chain stretch, and pump timing

So how do I up the boost and I am going to adjust the valves I keep seeing post about elements but what exactly are the elements. From bone stock what should I do to the engine to pep it up?

Before all the performance stuff get the motor to stop shaking with simple's advice.

Elements are likely the most costly expense. Required to send your pump away for modifications. Your can turn your current IP up with the advice under the engine section.

Lots of reading, re reading, and than more reading in here. Keep the pen and paper out to keep the re reading to a min. There is a plethora of beastly mods people have done. Some things you just have to wing it.

It doesn't shake bad at all now did the valve adjustment changed the oil and ran some diesel cleaner through the engine. I haven't done the glow plugs yet but they only affect starting if I read it right.

Glow plugs are only necessary for starting, I'd fix them one at a time as you need them. Junkyard glowplugs are the cheapest way to do it

Injector balancing and pump timing will be a huge improvement. Above 100,000 miles you will probably need new nozzles. Greazzer's the man for nozzle stuff. Those two should set you back around $200 tops, and get you back to near stock HP levels-which is going to feel like a hell lot more than when you got it

Once the injectors/chain stretch/ pump timing has been corrected you will want to look at reaming your prechambers.

Then get yourself an EGT gauge, boost gauge, and start playing with the pump.

Sounds like a denver problem, you do remember you are a mile up and anywhere out of there is up?

I would check your motor mounts and engine shocks also! They wear out when they get older and can cause some shaking at idle also!
