So my injector nozzles are pretty much crap I think, thinking about replacing them soon. Anyway, wondering if anybody has had any experience with the monarch nozzles mercedessource sells?

Thanks yo

-1982 300D Turbo, 280k miles, ALDA apparently maxxed, fram 8038, 12 lbs boost, non-egr manifolds, W/M injection, 4 brake light mod, Gen II w126 front rotors/calipers, 4-speed swap
In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
-1980 300SD, 110k, project car. Goal is to get it lookin' like it did on the showroom floor (body and interior wise, not necessarily under the hood )

I have them in my 603 and my GF's 617. The 603 has good compression, new glow plugs and is pretty shitty with cold starts compared to my GF's 602 with original nozzles. I'm beginning to suspect that the Monarchs don't atomize the fuel as well as the Bosch nozzles at idle. The 602 in question is pretty impressive for a 21 Y.O. diesel when it comes to idle noise and cold starting. The 603 runs great, but is not impressive in either of those categories. I think the difference comes down to injector nozzles.

I think anything would be better than what I have going on right now, the car sounds like "clack clackity clack clack" at idle, shakes like a mofo at idle(motor mounts are good) and just sounds sickly overall. It has a new air cleaner and I've adjusted the valves recently (I think in November or December maybe). It smooths out when I rev it a little (idle is about 950 or so, any less and bad things happen, probably should get a new rack damper bolt or whatever) so I'm thinking the volume of fuel at idle isn't sufficient to atomize properly. Also the mileage has been slowly getting worse and worse (does need IP timing) but I'm barely getting 20 right now with a stock pump.

I know somebody who just recently (past couple weeks) replaced their nozzles with Monarchs and supposedly the car is running way better than before (increased mileage, more power, no smoke, etc.) so I was thinking about getting some since they seem the most readily available

This is for w123 om617.952 application

Think about this too...
Sassparilla, are you looking at stock size? I've read about "265" nozzles, suppose to be bigger or something?

You're a youngun' without a lot of bills, why don't you send those out for extrude honing? Then report back Smile

Or better yet, send them to me and I'll photograph them at 100x with our microscope and then send em out and repeat.

How much would that cost and where do I send them?
