1999 300TD
1999 300TD
Hope I am putting this in the right forum section.
Due to a recent death a friend of mine inherited a 1999 300TD from their mother who was the original owner. Car to the best of my knowledge never has left the Houston, Tx area and am told it is in excellent condition. I know anytime it had any sort of hiccup that her mother took it in to be fixed. I do not know what options the car has. I know it is white and has a sunroof but could find out more details if needed. What I am trying to find out for her though is what would this car be worth in general terms? It has 91k miles on it and I am unaware of it ever having had any major repairs needed. She says she does not want to sell it but also is wanting to know the value of it, guess for curiosity reasons.
This isn't really a forum for MB in general; I'd suggest that you join BenzWorld and post this question (with pics) in the

forum. As a wild guess, if it's really nice, $9-10 K.
The '99 E300D turbo diesel engine (OM606.962) and its automatic transmission (722.6nn) are desireable for swapping into older models to obtain higher horsepower than the older models' stock engines+trannies provided. The engine might be worth as little as $1800 or as much as $3500, depending on condition. The transmission, anywhere from $600 to $1200.
I am member there but just figured I'd have better luck here since seems much more activity here in regards to people shopping older Mercedes diesels. Will try over there as well. My guess too was around $10k but based on what I see online ads asking prices at.
