w123 300d om617.952 ??
hi all..
i am new in this forum..
my english is so bad
now i have 3 autos, 73 mb 220d, 85 golf 1.8 16v gti and 89 golf 1.6 8v..
i am thinking about sell my 8v golf and buy 84 mb 300d turbo(om617.952)..
but i have questions :S
i want drifting with w123, is this car enough for drifting?
do i use which turbo?
which diesel pump and which nozzles?
how much horsepower can i have with stock internals on om617.952??
thanks..
With a built injection pump and turbo maybe around 250hp reliably
larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?
Dieselmenken is popular on the forums here, for a turbo an HY30 seems to be decent?
I'm convinced that a custom manifold can make a difference, the stock log has a lot of sharp turns and virtually nonexistant runners.

I'm sure a k27 could handle that power or a smallish Holset hy30 hx30 ! I would send the stock pump out to be built by Dieselmenken! I personally would add an intercooler also and a free flowing exhaust and intake

Stock injection pump, but send it to Dieselmenken and he will install and calibrate new larger elements. I don't know the exact cost but I've heard $1,000-$2,000 being tossed around. With the stock pump you max out at around 140hp/190tq
Another option for a power boost is spraying methanol-the only dyno chart I've seen gained 25ish HP.

With a stock pump maxed out 140hp with all of the other mods!
the pump is what makes it powerful every thing else just helps supports it!
All turbo cars have an MW pump stock, you will need an M pump for it to be rebuilt with larger elements I believe
