Hey everyone. New here. Ive been wanting a W123 Merc with an OM617 but I dont want to give up the comforts or handling of my 323i 5speed. So the next best thing I can think of is to put that motor into my bmw. Has anyone attempted such as swap on this forum? Ive done a search and google search too and came up empty handed. Thanks.

I have done OM606 swap to e36. It's quite complex process, but if you have skills you can do it.

Why om617, not om605?

I would use a 60X motor they're much lighter. If you put a 617 up front it will be very very front heavy.

larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?
