I haven't really seen much data on what people with STD's are running for times out there. Gotta think a low 13 is possible.
I went 12.1 with my old conquest tsi with 275whp. Gotta think a well tuned 603/606 could do better. Any thoughts?

I don't even think my 0-60 time is 13 seconds, so 1/4 would have to be more than that as traveling a constant 60mph would be 1/4 mile every 15 seconds

-1982 300D Turbo, 280k miles, ALDA apparently maxxed, fram 8038, 12 lbs boost, non-egr manifolds, W/M injection, 4 brake light mod, Gen II w126 front rotors/calipers, 4-speed swap
In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
-1980 300SD, 110k, project car. Goal is to get it lookin' like it did on the showroom floor (body and interior wise, not necessarily under the hood )
-1974 240D, FRESH PAINT!!!!!!

Normally I can give a pretty close guess on 1/4 mile times or at least trap speeds given vehicle weight, RWHP and trans setup. Unfortunately when people say their MB diesel has XX hp, they usually don't say if it CHP, RWHP or what type of dyno was used.

Part of the reason im sure is due to the fact that most people who make these engine turn to drifting rather then running the 1320..

Guess we'll see what the little 602 will do in the next few months.

I would guess and say my om617 would do about 9.5 in the 1/4.
Minutes that is...

'82 300D -3" straight pipe, ALDA deleted, 3in1 glowshift gauge, HX30, egr-less manifold, A/W intercooler Big Grin

Very cool, 104 trap could put you in low 13's depending on your launch and 60' times.

I don't think the OM602 will breath as well as the 605 so im sure i won't see those numbers. Just gunning for 275-300 hp range which should make a fun car.

yea, my opel manta does 13.1 with 104mph terminal speed. The manta has better traction of the line.

Opel Manta's fairly interesting little car. What powers it?

P.S. what the deal with the drag strips over there? Every video i see of a track in Europe it looks like a temporary timing setup on regular roads. Is drag racing just not that popular over there?

hi,
opel manta is powered by nissan sr20 motor.

manta

the only places long enough over here are old airfield runways, and with noise complaints and one thing another drag racing is usually only on once a month, so lights are removable.
wouldn't be just as popular over here.

Its gotta be a power-glide or TH400 as they both have really good transbrake set ups available. Probably a power-glide though with the two shifts..

Mantahead-IN your thread about the C250TD tuning you did, there is a picture of the exhaust you built and in the background there are two transmission with the belhousing chopped off...whats going on there? You TIG weld that exhaust?
