my w124 606 962 Superturbodiesel
that is looking verry good
are you getting some difference in the means of power?
I hope tomorrow I can make some ghetto Downpipe to make some tests. now is more smoke in the car than out
larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?
That wastegate is gorgeous!

very nice twin scroll all the way to the waste gate!
how much power are you aiming for?
what kind of diesel cc do you have?
great prodject
get a movie to show us

Hello! nice building you got there!! im planing to built something like this too and you are a great inspire! But a few question.. how does the 716.654 gearbox atatch to the engine? is it bolt on? And how does it fit to rest of the drivertain? specialllly the cardang? thats not bolt on ?? Is the 716.654 gearbox hold yourr tq and hp ?

a cardang is a differential :p
have you made a high boost clip yet?
waiting to se :p
looks like it work good on 1.8 bar :p
I use normal ASD diff. But longer than the sock 3.46
If it's dry tomorrow yo get a clip:-)
I was thinking cardang=cardan=u-joint (or flex disc if you're flexible)

love the clip, please make more of them :p
if I ever wisit your home town, I want to se that black smoker sideways in the city :p
I think we all are expecting new video from outside, as the first videos from Hanse with a friend filming burn outs and their word "moookkkkk!!!!!!!!"......of course another one in dyno with the new manifold.
Can be a hard test to see the strenght of the gearbox and rear end...it is the "small" 185mm, 2,65 ratio? Hope not break nothing...
this car is insane! get a chill down my back when i see the video!! Awesome man! Engine still stock and unopened ??
Thanks you very much to all! It feels good to see that people like that diesel suff. Thx!
The rear end is small one I think 3.26 or 3.07. It's verry short the under gears but the high rpm can push the 260kmh tach on max ;-)
Yes the engine is still unopened at all.
Im looking for some intake update and don't know how I should it do..
You can see the diff ratio , clean with gasoline, solvent or a knife-cutter the lower right side at the rear of the diff, the ratio is stamped.
I made (not weld...) this manifold for my engine, 89mm (3,5") intake tube, with that "difussers" to flow all cylinders, is not a race manifold, but well, its done by me....stock 606.962 has only 60mm intake and has the EGR actuator.
that manifold looks sweet!
Gasoil I like your manifold, quite similar to my own idea. Has it been flow tested or is that design a result of some calculation? Or is it just your idea of what should flow very well?
Hansebanger, it looks like you are on the right track to a real superturbodiesel Thank you for sharing
A few days ago Hans brought me his old Holset HX40 turbo for revision.
I stripped it down today and found some good news, and also some bad news.
The good news:
The bearings of Holset turbos are incedibly strong and withstand quite some load and heavy boosting.
You can hardly see on the bearings that this turbo even ever was running, you have to look very close.
Thrust and main bearings, as like the piston sealant rings are in good condition.
The bad news:
The HX40 compressor wheel has seen some overspeeding, the effect is so called "overspeeding distortion" which can be seen on the backside of the wheel.
This occurs when the max. rpm limit from the compressor wheel is exceeded, the wheel "grows" due to g-forces and the backside of the wheel warps.
In this case it also had a very slight touch in compressor housing, just as much so you can notice it, nothing to worry about for the housing. Another side effect of overspeeding is, that the center bore also grows, so the wheel was sitting very lose on the shaft once the shaft nut was losened.
The rest of turbo also was refurbished, a new genuine Holste bearing/sealant kit was used and a new compressor wheel is on order.
It then will be balanced and ready to go for another crazy boost party ^^
Naaauuuuuu ^^

Lookink good! I want build some like that but I'm want use the NA intake because the room for nice adjust Alda and fuel. Not sure abaut that. Thx for the pics!
Looks better as new:-)

Is there any way to strengthen the compressor wheel to handle over speeding? maybe a better alloy?
Erling66, no calculations about flow, only watching the intake tube, and thinking what could be made (something easy) to improve flow to all cylinders, a race manifold it is more difficult to made, more expensive and time consuming. I used 4mm aluminium, perhaps too thick...
Hanse, you use the N/A manifold, as you say to easy access to IP, but watching the desing I think is best the Turbo manifold, but is only my opinion...

(12-20-2013, 09:11 AM)Tito What clutch are you using? Still with the dual mass flywheel?

Marry Christmas to all dieseldudes:-)
Hi guys !
Anybody can confirm that I can mount a 606 NA oilpan on my 606turbo block to have more space to the sway bar . Fits plug and play?
