How did you test check primary pump? Sounds like the problem is fuel supply. I doubt that all the plungers and barrels all failed at once. Unless you feed it gasoline.

I just had a failed lift pump the other day. It could pump with no resistance but, under back pressure it couldn't do anything.
This sounds like a fuel supply issue. Clogged lines, filters, dead lift pump. Did you try to open the injector lines and crank the starter?

Rusted out beat down 300d turbo 82' -- RIP
Nice body, tons of ridiculous mechanical issues - 300d turbo 82' /motor 85'

Problem solved.

Got to go to a dieselshop. They found some dirt inside the pump.

I tried to start the engine and the lift pump was pumping a lot of diesel.

Thanks to all.

Another thing that can cause problems is if the tank vent it plugged, the tank can get a vacuum in it and then the pump can't pump as hard as the tank is "sucking" and cause issues

-1982 300D Turbo, 280k miles, ALDA apparently maxxed, fram 8038, 12 lbs boost, non-egr manifolds, W/M injection, 4 brake light mod, Gen II w126 front rotors/calipers, 4-speed swap
In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
-1980 300SD, 110k, project car. Goal is to get it lookin' like it did on the showroom floor (body and interior wise, not necessarily under the hood )
-1974 240D, FRESH PAINT!!!!!!
