hello.
ive turbo converted my w124 om606.910 engine.
would an diesel pump from a 603 give more fuel than my stock 606 pump?

thanks!

Actually, the 603 pump has 5.5mm plunjers, and the 606 6mm plunjers (right?) so you could technically inject more fuel with the 606 pump. But... the 606 pump is electric controlled. So thats why the 603 pump is preferred. Especially on the higher horsepower 606's with 603 pumps and 7mm (or more) elements

but Stripy had a om606.910 in a w124, hence a mechanical inlinepump with 5.5mm elements, and probably an RS number of rs203 or something, thats the best mechanical pump powerwise, so stick with that, or perhaps get it rebuilt with 7/7.5 or 8mm elements Smile

606.910 in w124 has the 5.5mm and rs203 yesWink And this is the best pump to build further on! Can get out around 65cc of it with the 5.5mm, but this demands alot of work^^

Oh you've got the non turbo engine. Didn't read that

7mm elements would probably get you up to 120cc as it did with my pump

why not go for like 180cc since you have that pump, and dieselmeken doesnt charge more for that?
dial it down, and still be able to get more power when/if you get a more badass engine?

probably easier+better if you would want to sell to.

(11-20-2013, 06:56 AM)stripy so 8mm wouldnt be a over kill?

think he got 180cc out of the 7.5mm elements in my pump,
but yeah, 180cc probably overkill for your NA om606, you would probably break the gearbox apart anyway.
but since you got the "best" pump one might think it would be a shame to destroy with low-spec settings Wink

when the engine breaks down, and you stumble upon a turbo om606 you are already good to go Wink

8mm would probably give a tad harsher idle+rougher engine thou.

dieselmeken probably has more to say about that.
Mynä say their 8mm runs rough, and especialy on the high RSnumbers.

does dieselmeken deliver 7mm?

drove a om606 with high RS number, and the 8mm 205cc mynä-pump, unknown injectorsettings, and it still was smoother or the same as dieselmekens 7.5mm 180cc with 150bar injectors, same type of RSnumber. 175isch (as long as there was no prepumps running)

id think you could go for 7.5mm without rough idle,
even thou the pump can be able to deliver high max, you could dial it down on ALDA to get it lower.
if you want to be sure you probably could change your high RS-pump and get a smoother running low RS pump built for "less money" total.

i do not say this is how it is, just my thoughts and how i have interpretated the information ive gotten.

what mynä wrote, and i think the HP regards the om606 engine.

"
1. 7mm elements and older model camshaft.
-Quite smooth engine sound, not much sharper than stock with warm engine.
-Max sensible hp ~480hp (Probably more can be taken, but the injection
time becomes quite long => burning not very efficient anymore)

2. 7mm elements and newer model camshaft.
-Engine sound sharper than stock especially with cold engine, but still ok.
-Max hp ~550hp

3. 8mm elements and older model camshaft.
-Engine sound about the same as in option 2.
-Max sensible hp ~650hp
-Throttle much more sensible and idle rpm might not be as stable
compared to 7mm elements.

4. 8mm elements and newer model camshaft.
-Engine sound sharp, I would say annoyingly sharp.
-Max hp ~750hp.
-Throttle and idle things of option 3 apply also here.
"

--
regarding idle problem with option 3 and 4, ive seen this, not stable at al, reving up and down,
om606 205cc 8mm late cam pump
when the electric "prepumps" was turned of the the engine suddenly was running smooth as stock engine, and the idle stable and nice...
