So I am contemplating swapping an om603 into my w123 but the one I'm looking at buying is missing a few things. Among them is the belt tensioner. I happen to have one I believe is for an om606 or newer om603 which I purchased on mistake when I was correcting that issue on my '87.
Anyway, since the whole setup is missing on the donor engine, I figured id see if you guys knew what was involved(i.e. other parts needed, etc.) in switching to the newer style and any pros/cons of doing so. Basically all that's on the donor is the spring mount at the top. There's no bolt or anything for the tension arm itself.

The 606 tensioner is pivoted on a see-saw arm one end of which has the spring which is itself anchored to a lever thingy which allows the tension to be released. Arrows show where the bolt goes when the tension is correct.

The opposite end of the mounting see-saw has a small shocker going up to that bolt in the head you see to the left.

This is he spare part I have:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOWER-ACC-Belt-T...c4&vxp=mtr

It looks like the spring part is basically the same as the 603. I know when I tried to install the above part, something was different, I want to say the bolt wouldn't fit.
