has anyone else tried to clock the exhaust housing on one of these? I pulled the alignment pin out, and moved it to the position that I wanted. while it was still loose, the vgt gear thing moved freely, like it did before I messed with it, but once I tighten the housing down, I can no longer move it. anyone else had this problem? what am I doing wrong?

Without the pin, there is nothing to stop it from working at any angle. The alignment ring is freely rotating and the housing has no functional parts other than that ring.

Try tightening the housing with the vanes all the way closed.
