I am wondering are the output yokes the same splines and outer diameter. The reason I ask as I am fitting the 722.6 into my coupe and I had to get a custom prop shaft so would rather change this then make a new shaft.

You need to count the splines. If they're the same, the diameter should be the same.

All I can tell you is that I pulled the trident from my .6 in the hope that it would swap with the one from a Getrag manual. It wont, being both larger in diameter over the splines and also the seal.
So if you're thinking it might swap with that from a .4 or .5 ... I would think the probability is that it wont.

Ah! If you'd said that in the first place Confused Wink

So I did an EPC part search based on the trident (output flange) from my own .6

A220 272 06 45.

This part number would seem to fit just about every 722 there ever was. Two pages of relevant hits in fact. If you have the gearbox code for what you want to fit it to I can run a specific check. 722.???

Hehe thanks man but if this makes sense, I need it to fit the prop on a 300ce so I was thinking which ever flex mount fitted on to the 300 A's which trident that would be as the box I have is from a 99 c250 turbo diesel.

Ps really appreciate the help

I tried to fit one from a .4 on my .6 and the .6 is bigger. I am going to have to figure out my drive shaft know. Or try and get a different flange.

As said all the .6 flanges are the same spline and seal. There are 3 different 3 bolt patterns. 90mm, 100mm, and 110mm. The 4 bolt pattern is available in 110mm and 120mm.
To measure this make sure you are measuring the bolt circle. Like a wheel bolt pattern.
There are also other designs available for the transmission for different applications that do not use flex discs.

https://www.northerndrivetrain.com Has just about any spline count and dia. you can find. Ive sorted out all the yokes and flanges to build my own shaft from these guys. Do your measurements and see what you can find. Also you could machine the trident down and weld a companion flange to it and build a custom shaft with u-joints.

Ok so I looked and can't find a .6 output I can use for a U joint. I am going to try the local drive train shop but couldn't really find anything on line.

I'm with Dunc. You can turn a stock flange down to a cylinder, slide it into a "weld yoke", weld it up and you're good to go.

If you want a standard 13-- series u joint then what you do is have a plate machined that kind of looks like a flex disc the bolts to the transmission yoke and then you bolt the u joint to the plate. Take a look at the Drive Shaft Shop. For the lx chrysler platforms. But many places could do this most likely.
