Hi!
Just started a 606 project.
The recipe so far is:
Stock Om606.96x "200.000km" (unverified)
8mm 220cc Dieselmeken.
Borg warner 410 (used, from a OM457)
Tilton copy (ace racing) 3-disk 7,25" Clutch,
Getrag 213 6-speed (BMW 320d)
China Intercooler,
China"chevy" radiator
China 2x 35mm wastegates

So what i missing is a Exhaust manifold, Oilradiator, and Pre-pump. (and a car?! :p)
So... about the pre-pump, i'v got a blue Holly pump left over from an old project , but i'm not sure if that one will get me enough fuel.
I also have this bad boy.
Is 255 l/h enough? And what should a set my pressure regulator to? I'v heard about 3bar?

Regards Sami.

Asking Dieselmeken what pre pump to use would be a good start but I am pretty sure the pump you like to isn't any use. Sure I remember reading that 1bar is the max and that thing is 10 bar.

Only 1bar? Thats good news, then maybe i can use my Holly pump?
It doesn't matter if the pumps deliver 10, or 21 bars. it's easy fixed whit a Pressure regulator Smile
I'll try to contact Dieselmeken again

I believe 1 bar is a little low, some p-pump guys run 4+bar.
I wouldn't use the holly, as it is designed for gasoline, and diesel has a thicker viscosity, it can cause problems with the pump. I had three Barry and grant pumps fail for that reason.
I switched to a airdog raptor setup, never had a problem since then. 0-100psi adjustable

'82 300D -3" straight pipe, ALDA deleted, 3in1 glowshift gauge, HX30, egr-less manifold, A/W intercooler Big Grin
'14 Ram 6.7l cummins -G56 handshaker, wishing it was deleted

1 bar is enough if you are able to keep that pressure on WOT. You are not able to compress the fuel so you will not push more fuel into the elements with higher pressure.
The holly work great on dieselSmile I have run my pump now for 2 years on a mix of diesel and vegetable oil, so higher viscosity is no problem.
Of course the airdog raptor is a great pump if you have the money for it.

I think its like this if your pump can deliver more fuel than you can burn 1 bar is ok but if your pump is maxed out there is a benefit of going to 2,5- 3 bar.

the reason I think that is based on dyno run with a V12 MTU 183TE92 (OM444LA) 1000 HP marine engine where the different between 22 psi fuel pressure and 44 psi was 100 HP more with no other changes done to the engine.
MAN V12 D2842 marine engines also need about 44 psi to get the HP according to the spec, and we are talking about complete remanufactured engines.
the relive valve is set to 37 psi for these engines and at 2300 RPM that gives about 40-45 psi.

Check that your china wastegate valve actually seals on its seat as ours didn't, it had a 3mm!!! gap around the entire circumference.

Check your china intercooler for efficiency, I had one and performance seemed to be Sh**t. So I bought an equivalent size (14" X 24") intercooler that was one from an Evo 6 (used), it was £27 posted..

Installed:

OM606/722.6, big IC, W220 brakes.
Planned:
DIY manifold, compound, 722.6 controller, built IP.
[i]Less rust..

1 bar @ idle, 3bar @ 5000rpm

I'm planning to run a holley black, runs at 3bar and about 140gph from memory.

W124 om606 HX40 finished and it's a beauty 450bhp/456ft-lbs
