I would expect n/a cams to have longer intake duration but I could be mistaken, as I'm not an engineer Wink

-1982 300D Turbo, 280k miles, ALDA apparently maxxed, fram 8038, 12 lbs boost, non-egr manifolds, W/M injection, 4 brake light mod, Gen II w126 front rotors/calipers, 4-speed swap
In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
-1980 300SD, 110k, project car. Goal is to get it lookin' like it did on the showroom floor (body and interior wise, not necessarily under the hood )
-1974 240D, FRESH PAINT!!!!!!

hello fine people ,
i´m about to check that, cause i have to rebuild a head from a 2 damaged one is N/A the other is T , so i let u know that , but u may start thinking that valve lift is the same , timing no , will be diff , timing in N/A engines must consider some valve overlap to deal with cylinder filling and dinamics of the exaust. on the other way turbo versions want to empty the cylinder as fast as possible to fill it under boost. so u may expect diff timing instead of diff valve lift.
i´ll post my fidings later

question , i can not understand, is your idea fitting a N/A cam in a turbo engine? just because has more lift?

The BMW guys (petrol/e85) usually drives with a modified intake cam on the exhaust side. Is there a difference there to on the om605/606 engines. So two N/A intake cams on a OM-engine might be awesome. If it's doable that is.

I can help you out with all your manual transmission, clutch, flywheel, intake and exhaust manifold issues.

So ya, my comment about exhaust was based on BSR's new videos for their budget std. He said NA for the exhaust, makes sense that it would be an NA intake. Is the profile the same? Never seen cams on the 605/6.

ah rite, i was wondering about why the guy on the BSR video said they where using n/a exhaust cam with 1mm more lift.
he must have meant inlet cam.

as Erling pointed out in that other thread about cams, you can't run inlet cam on exhaust side because they run in opposite directions, off the gear, valves will be opening in wrong order.
