w211 320 cdi
Hello.
My W211 320 cdi 204hp started shaking...
I tuned it get and 237hp. My tuner told me that 250hp could be reached...
My torque converter started shudder. There is anything i can do besides get it fixed... can i get one bit stronger to hold 700NM? Or the normal one can hold it?
Do you know how make the job?
Here in Portugal no one make the operation....
OK. I ask because the early cars (including 03 and 04) suffer from what is known as 'the Valeo problem'. This is where certain cars fitted with main radiators made by Valeo get a problem where the gearbox oil cooler fails at a crimp and allows coolant into the gearbox fluid. Symptoms of this include a bad judder. Firstly, if you suspect this you should ask for a Glycol test on the fluid. If it fails this test you will need a new TC and radiator and complete fluid flush. At the very worst a gearbox rebuild.

Hello.
I check no strange noises....no oil in the Glycol, and no glycol in the oil....
My synthoms are just the shacking of the car...
Great post...thanks.
Does the original torque converter holds 700NM?

you should first service and flush the transmission then readapt it w/ mb's sds, that sometimes clears things up, don't use aftermarket torque converters!

(03-27-2014, 04:34 PM)mantahead hi,
sometimes oil runs up the inside of the wiring loom and gets into the gearbox ecu, faulty o ring on gearbox plug.
ecu on rhd is passenger foot well.
be worth a check.
this won't cause a tcc shudder, after failing over the years to stop that leak, they put the control unit on the valve body on the 722.9
Did you ever test for glycol? Any MB dealer has the chemistry set needed to do the test.
