How much fluid should this contain? When my trans was shipped the torque converter was removed & mounted separately on the pallet, atleast half the fluid spilled out of it. Do these need to be filled with fluid before being mounted to the trans or fill fluid just flow from the trans into the torque converter when I refill the trans?

Fills from the trans when engine run. Takes quite a lot from empty...probably 3 to 4ltrs approx. Quite important these boxes are dipped at working temp. Takes Merc synthetic fluid as well not your ordinary Dot3 or whatever.

Is Fuchs Titan ATF 4134 the correct spec? Because I'm getting a conductor plate & filter kit & that's the fluid that comes with it.

Personally I wouldn't be putting anything other than MB oil in my box...they're too expensive to risk. You pays your money...etc.

I'll use that fluid for something else then, it's only 2 litres that ships with the filter kit anyway, which is odd.

Any fluid that meets the 134 spec is fine. Fuchs, febi, shell, etc. There is no measurable difference in the fluids and many thousands of cars running just fine. Valvoline Maxlife atf is suitable as well for the 722.6. The 134 spec fluid is actually designed for the 722.9 transmission and is backwards compatible. I have serviced many cars with several different fluids over the years and have found no difference in the longevity of the transmissions. I have quite a few very high mile customer cars in and around the 500,000 mile mark. We now use the Shell because it is the best deal and is for the 722.9 as well but used the Valvoline for many years. Adaptations are not really effected that I have seen either.

We use pentosin atf1. Meets all the specs and when we by it in drum form it's almost the same cost as dex6. Great fluid!
