190D Turbo -92 question
(episode 1) he said that the ones past 92 are all low emitted and you can't really do anything to them, my question is why? Why can't you change anything to them? Problem with the MOT tests? I was thinking about adding an Intercooler, 7.5-8mm element and a larger turbo to my 190 but after hearing that in the video made me rethink.
Hello, I have a 190d turbo -92 and was wondering why in the video

03-28-2014, 02:50 PM #2They said something about the car being classified as a low emissions vehicle so they couldn't do anything to the engine. If your engine has angled prechambers then it's probably low emissions too.

I guess my precambers are indeed angled as you said, is it impossible to do anything to the engine? Whats the difference that makes the low emission "usless" when it comes to tuning?

your lucky in Sweden you can do a lot if I did the same in Denmark = no plates and a big bill for tax
try and look under projects at Tito OM 603 same engine just 1 cylinder more
I don't think that's the problem its a country problem, every country have different rules even different states in the US. its like petrol cars 1991 and up (if I remember right) all have to be with electronic fuel injection inside EU, long live the environment.

03-31-2014, 09:33 PM #6Are you asking about the technical ins and outs of modding the 602 or are you asking about Swedish smog laws? As far as tech goes, the newer, the better. Angled chambers are way better at everything. There have been numerous additional improvements to the 602 during it's production run.

I was asking about modding the engine, because in the video he said that the low emssion engine (angled precambers) can't be done any modding to.
