Hey guys looking at possibly going after some diesel land speed records
and would like to know some dimensions for a 2L and 3L engine. not sure what models. What kind of power can be made with these engines?
they need to go 5 miles at full power so they need to be durable.
we can use any fuel or power adders we want propane, nitrous, water what ever. right now we are just looking at what's out there.

om60x is good for 400 or so. Kind of an odd choice for an engine I would think?

We've never ran a diesel in our streamliner but most people have much larger streamliners that can accommodate larger engines but on the flip side need much more power to go fast. We have gone 360mph with just 550hp, it takes other streamliners 1000hp or more to go the same speed. I haven't seen any diesels that have run at bonneville that would fit our chassis, mostly cummins, duramax and JCB

You'll be in for a tough battle and a lot of money. The last speed record attempt used a pair of 750hp 4-cylinder industrial diesels.

A pair of OM606's at ~400hp could stand that kind of run. I haven't seen many Finns do much more than drag racing or drifting, so endurance is questionable.

so you think a om606 can run 400hp. at what rpm? how long is the engine from bell housing to end of harmonic balancer?
how tall is it from crank centerline to valve cover?

It is supposed to be able to rev to 9K rpms, about 90 psi of boost @ the manifold and produce 750 hp, which, is the minimum for longevity and daily use according to them. It appears to idle with about 1/2 a Bar as well.

I can measure the 606 when I get home from work, if someone does not beat me to it.

The timing sounds really advanced, but it might be necessary so the timing device can still advance at higher revs.

So, the 606 in full dress measures in at about 30.5" from the crank pulley to the bellhousing. Add about 1.25" for the starter nose bearing support.

The crank centerline to the valve cover is about 19", and about 8" from the centerline to the bottom of the stock oil pan.
