N/a om0 602
Hi all ive just come across this om602 010 4800 engine and manual g/box that I intend to transplant into an American pickup .
Can anyone tell me what torque it will produce and is it possible to add a turbo from another vehicle just a small boost would be helpful, would the sprinter manifold and turbo fit? Thanks Nige P/s I,m in the uk
I had one of those in my 190d. They sound nice but you really need to thrash them to get anywhere. I bet that American pickup of yours weighs shitloads.
In theory the sprinter turbo and manifold would fit, but in reality I have no idea. I reckon you'd be better off finding a complete sprinter engine, that way you have the injector pump with the ALDA device.
my onest opinion, 602 N/A is a way too small to power whatever bigger than a fiat 500
in the uk u can get a 605 from wd202 or even from the wd210, they usualy come with PES5M60 XXX XXX injection pump with electric governor, (ECU controlled). from my experience u can find wathever IP PES5M55 C320 RSXXX, mechanichal governor swap the 6mm elements inside the mechanichal pump fit to engine and thats it.

What kind of truck are you putting this into?
Maybe this N/A motor would be better suited with a supercharger rather than a turbo. That'd give you low-moderate boost straight away (from idle) and doesn't "need" to be intercooled. Intercooling is always better though.
It'd also save you from buying/making/needing a turbo, manifold and exhaust but some fancy mounting, serpentine belt and intake will be required.
I had thought about supercharging maybe an eaton blower from a merc or jag
