Picked her up for a 1000 bucks from a charity auction. Has the 17 head casting (horrah). Plenty of miles, but given the replaced head, unsure as to the history of the engine. ODO says 357,xxxx but she starts right up and I have been averaging 28 mpg combined, mostly city. Already replaced every filter. Just waiting for a day to do the glow plugs and have the intake manifold hot tanked to clean out the crap.

I acquired the pedal set from a manual w201. Hunting for a manual trans. Plan is to go manual. The auto works but feels too boggy until the converter locks up. And on twisty roads that gets old.

After that i want to play a little. Hx35s are cheap, but are they optimal? Im not a fan of huge late onset power. I want early torque.
