Hey fellers. been lurking for a few months trying to learn as much as I can with my limited internet abilities.
I recently bought a 4spd manual (716.210) to replace the squirrely automatic in my TDT.
The trans came with all the necessary hardware minus the front section of the drive shaft.
I'm assuming the manual is shorter than the auto. If so, by how much?
I've tried searching but I'm not real savy to the internet.

Thanks
Matt

The drive shaft It's longer not shorter is around 4 inches longer. You can have one custom made I paid $200.00 for a custom made drive shaft

I was expecting the driveshaft to be longer for the manual. I'll have to do some digging around if I don't find one soon.

Look for a driveshaft from a 240D manual, they're a little longer than what you need for a 300D application but only need to be shortened up about 4" or so to make them work

-1982 300D Turbo, 280k miles, ALDA apparently maxxed, fram 8038, 12 lbs boost, non-egr manifolds, W/M injection, 4 brake light mod, Gen II w126 front rotors/calipers, 4-speed swap
In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
-1980 300SD, 110k, project car. Goal is to get it lookin' like it did on the showroom floor (body and interior wise, not necessarily under the hood )
-1974 240D, FRESH PAINT!!!!!!
