190 530d gearbox drive shaft?
190 530d gearbox drive shaft?
Hello i am rebuilding my 190 2.0 with and om606 twin turbo.
I will be using the 530d gearbox from e39 and the asd diff from and w124 300tdt.
The problem is which drive shaft i should use.. The drive shaft from 530d have 26 splines which the one from the w124 also have. The front shaft from the 530d fits with the w124 rear shaft. Shortening the driveshaft is no problem, but then the support bearing from the w124 wont fit on the w201..
So is there any rear shaft from w201 that have 26splines or is there any support bearing that would make the w124 rear shaft to fit?
Or do i have to rebuild the bracket for the support bearing from w124?
Best regards Tobias
The 530d gearbox has a 110mm hardyplate, you need to measure what the diamter is on the rear axel.
Then you can just use the 530 e39 front shaft and weld it on to a shaft that fits the rear hardy plate.
I remember using a complete w211 or w212 driveshaft that i shortened to right length.
The hardy plate is the same if it comes from a bmw, volvo or audi or any other car as long it has the same diameter of the three bolt holes and the bolt diameter is the same (usually the same)

I will use a shortend w203 270cdi driveshaft with my MB 6-Speed.
It has 3 Hole 110mm Flanges from Factory.
Maybe it will fit without shortening...
I will see next Week when it arrives
