Hi,

Guys i need some help..
I have an OM606 and a 722.6 gearbox. all i need is a car.
what is the best and easiest car to swap the engine and gearbox?
i am thinking about 190, 2.5 manuel trans.
or w124 with om606 engine from 1994 and automatic trans.

i really could use your opinions and knowledge.

thanks Janko

it will definatily be easier to install the engine in the W124, the W201 engine bay is a bit too small for a six cylinder.

but i've seen some 190's on the net with om606. but how is wiring and stuff?
if i buy a w124 with a non turbo 606, can you directly put the turbo 606 in, or still some wires to be done? i also have a pump from 603. but what is the best thing to do? come on guys, help me a littleHuh

That would indeed be your best bet. The 606 n/a already has a mechanical diesel pump. Buy one of those, remove the engine and pump and mount the n/a pump and linkage to the turbo engine. The turbo engine originally has a electrical pump. So when you go this route, the problem will be eliminated.

The w201 engine bay is small, but you can fit Om606.
The w124 is bigger but also heavy

If it don`t blow smoke , it must be broke ! W201-Angel

You will need a standalone controller for the 722.6, PCS or the guy on this forum sells some can't rememebr his UN though..

Installed:

OM606/722.6, big IC, W220 brakes.
Planned:
DIY manifold, compound, 722.6 controller, built IP.
[i]Less rust..

hi guysSmile

finally an update.
i have bought an w210 300 turbodiesel combi , it has some rust and is maybe not the nicest one around, but for a price of 650 i couldn't walk away..
but now i have a question, i want to make it little bit quicker because it is not really fast. what is the best thing to do? bigger turbo and intercooler and maybe pump elements, and then also u must do something to ecu or am i wrong?
pics will follow, but i dont know if it will make u happyBig Grin
