OM603 torque tuning for 4x4
OM603 torque tuning for 4x4
Hello
I'm about to putt a OM603 Turbo in my Mercedes G. 1988.
But I want more low end torque. I'd love to have about 300 Newton around 2000 rpm.
180 hp would be fine for me. They are not so necessary for me.
How would do this?
What turbo etc.?
I need the car for difficult off-road, and to pull heavy trailers and caravans.
Eaton M90 supercharger every day. Make the crank pulley 4-times the one on the SC and you have full rev on the SC @ 5250rpm. The times you rev more is no problem cause it's only be for a moment.
Dieslemeken 7.5mm revlimit 6k.
Lots of torque and cool sound
hi
use your originalturbo or something like the KKK K14 out of W210 300 turbo
a nice intercooler and 7.5mm elements,
for much torque and only180 hp out of the OM 603 this will be enough and
yout max rev you can set at the originale 5100 this is enough for a 4X4
i think you use it for trailering and such works
greets

150-170hp
the w210 KCR chip:
Original 177 hk
KCR-Box 205 hk
Original 330 Nm
KCR-Box 370 Nm
So the original kkk turbo would at least be able to do 205hk even in a 603 right?
Hi, sorry to hijack this thread a little bit, but really the same question for a om606 powered g wagen.
Also would like more torque lower down, it pulls like a train once the turbo is up and running from about 2000 revs but that is too late offroad.
Om606 with mechanical pump with 6 mm elements.
Supercharger is sadly not possible as i already run a big hydraulic pump for my winch so it is crowded in the engine bay!
I have purchased a 350 sdl mechanical pump now as it would appear they already give some more oomph than a 300 pump which I have now.
So The question is: do I go for 6mm elements or 7mm.
Will the 7mm give more torque lower down the rev range and will they work with the standard little turbo.
As the original poster not too bothered about hp but grunt loooow down.
Air/water intercooler already installed and a 80 mm free flowing exhaust as well.
Hope it was ok to post here
Thanks in advance

VE is worse so say 195hp (my earlier answer was for the VNT-turbo)
