Hey everyone,

New to this forum, but not new to diesels. I've got a Cummins 4BT (3.9L turbodiesel) in an old Toyota Land Cruiser.

The HX30w with the 6cm2 turbine housing is regarded as one of, if not the best turbo to run as a single on this motor, however it lacks on the top end. The stock HX30 has a 40mm inducer.

Via this thread on the forum I frequent, 4BTSwaps, it's rumored that there is such a thing as a "Super" HX30 from Holset, with a 46mm inducer, that's supposed to flow more air. I'm in search of more info.

http://www.4btswaps.com/forum/showthread...-4BT/page5

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on this turbo? If not, does anyone know where I can get the compressor wheel and housing from a Super HX30 to fit to a regular HX30w?

Thanks in advance!

I'm the "Norwegian fellow" than can get them Wink They have the exact same hot side as the normal HX30W 65/52mm 6cm turbine.

The compressor wheel exducer is bigger so not a plug and play wheel and housing upgrade. I haven't found the parts separately yet either unfortunately

Yup, that's the thread I found on this forum. I should have put the link above for reference. Thanks!

Damn. Well at least we can get the whole turbo! I'll respond to your email shortly.

Thanks!

HE211/HE200 with 5cm housings spool faster than HX30W

HE221 with 7cm housing will be very close to the HX30 turbos. Less inertia to spool up but lower compressor efficiency, turbine choke flows are pretty close

HX30W and HX30W share the same turbine and housing so they will spool very similarly

Going for a bolt on 211 5cm in place of the KKK, no intercooler. Will need extender pipe to hook turbo outlet to standard exhaust; Can I order a straight turbo exhaust outlet flange plate from Cummins direct somehow? Anyone have a part number? Thanks.

I'll do the hx30 super later when I do the pump. For now the 211 seems like a great replacement.

Which of these is best for a 617-95X with a Myna pump for a daily driver? I'd like to keep the smoke as little as possible.

I would say HX30W-6cm with 44mm inducer. With the longer rev range on these no need for the Super compressor wheel as turbine will be the limit anyway

So I'm in the middle of installing my HX30W super and would like to change the exhaust from the immediate down turn 90 degree 2.5 inch to a straight pipe- no downturn 90. I can't use a downturn for routing.  Plus I need a flexpipe.  Please tell me where I can find that?  I've looked everywhere with no luck.
