Anyone ever had problems with getting oil pressure on first start up?
The previous motor seized because apparently no oil pumping while stock mb pressure gauge was fooling me that it had oil pressure. now dropped in a new engine and aftermarked pressure sensor and gauge . runs good but reads pressure of absolite zero. tried making revs. Hope the pressurr sensor is broken. wil get an analog tester.
but annyone got any tips? Dont want to seize a second engine

The first engine came from a running car that i drove myself with no problems.

stil think its really strange that it didnt get oil. this engine camr from the scrap but sounds alot better after the swap..

the oil pump have a pretty simple bulletproof constuction.

done tons o swaps with engines from the scrap untested.
but.never ever had so much trouble with getting oilpressure.

i probably have pressurr now but got spooked. cant afford to seize another engine

it should be the pressure transmitter. mb sells them cheap. but u can test the press by opening some oil line .
good luck.

I swapped to older pan from my 603 and it appeared that it would fit but it was bottomed out on pickup and gave me no oil pressure. You can swap the pickups from the winglet in the oil pan but it's tough.

You can remove the pickup from the 606 motor and install it in the removable winglet. It's not a super fun job but u didn't have any problems getting it done. The pickups are about 1/2 inch difference. If you have any questions you can ask me.

Wel i dont have the pickup from the 603 anymore. just have a complete om606.910 from w124 .so a sump and a pickup. So i can either swap that pan. or pan and pickup or i have to get a om603 pickup. but anyhow the pan has to come of. so its basicly the same amount of work.

but thnx for ur info. But i just swap thr schould it be giod then? Or does the na also have a differend pickup?.

Also the.oilpressure sender i was using was aftermarket and brand new. the mb sender was broken before and fooled us. it gave 3 bar pressure even with no engine in

Pan doesn't have to come off if you get a 603 pickup.

What car is it in? My 606 oil pan wouldn't work in my W126 chassis.

Yeah get a 603 pickup. It's going to be easier in all ways. You will have to move the motor forward or cut your crossmember Because the pan does go back about an 1inch more. I also have a 722.6 and it just wasn't going to happen at least anyways nicely.
