Hi to all Big Turbinas in here,
now, after 6 years fascinating in superturbodiesel i will start my own project.

My name is Maurice, I m from Germany NRW, 24 years old.

My first car was a 202 220diesel, if i was on the knowledge from now (thanks to F.R.A.S) that car would stayed by me.

But isnt. Last summer I bought an 89 124 om 602 NA. Still pulled up the pump to 6000rpm and much sound trough 5 sportfilter.

A few weeks ago i bought an 602 turbo engine and started to collect some parts.

What i get till now is:

-om 602 turbo with ALDA pump
-om 602 na intake w124
-0m 602 na intake g class ( fits nice to original intake w124 to mount an intercooler)
-big brakes from 320e
-cheap suspensionkit from ta technix
-flywheel om601
-original 602turbo exhaust

The plan is to build the original parts in to the car and get it legally registred by *!*!ing TÜV.

After that it would be nice to make as most as possible Smile

Tomorrow i will buy some gearboxes. 717.404 ( 180€) and a 717.430 ( 80€)
I think the 717.404 is the better choice and the .430 as reserve.

But i got a few questions you guys maybe could answer easily.

What is the best bolt in clutch for a low budget project like this fitting to 601 flywheel and holding some power

What about turbo, i thought a hx40w or an hx35w

Wich size pump elements should i go for ( with hx35 or hx40)?

What is a nice fitting IC sice?

Should i use the 602 na pump for bigger elements or the 602turbo pump with alda? (i read that adjusting alda is not easy, some of you have removed alda, some say if using an na pump should by an dieselmeken alda)

The big goal is getting 400hp, but more realistic is for sure 3xx

Thanks to all answers Smile

Thanks Big Grin

Dieslemeken ALDA for sure, easy to adjust and works great.

hx35 is pretty ok for a om602 Tongue

Strongest clutch that you can find on a scrapyard is om605-turbo, that's a 240mm clutch to begin with BUT dual mass flywheel. Otherwise you need to machine the om601 flywheel and use the Sachs 765 pressure plate like we always do. Pretty cheap option that works amazing.

For us not in to the German license plates Tongue  where in Germany do you live?

Some 7.5mm Dieslemeken elements in your pump would be perfect, n/a or turbo don't matter with his ALDA.

Cheers / F

I can help you out with all your manual transmission, clutch, flywheel, intake and exhaust manifold issues.

Some news after a while.

You guys want to see some pics for sure.

Painted the engine, intakte , fan, and now some 17 AMG wheels.

I closed the oil channels in the na intakte.

Need a good offer Form Goran for 8mm elements and alda for na pump, and from Fred for the flywheel 765pp and clutch and exhaust manifold.

Did someone run a hx 40 in 602?

Hope the 717.430 will hold the power Smile

I broke a .435 box last year, same as .430. Stay away from 3th gear when you start getting power in it Smile

Hi!

Cool build, be interesting what the good old 602 can do.

Maybe worth to have a look at W210 E290TD manifold, if it fits 190 engine bay... No rubbers and long runners & bigger plenum Smile I was planing to cut & weld to of them to add to OM603 before I went OM606 Smile

HS TD 602 Wink

Hi diseasel Wessel, nice to meet a german member, wher ur from?

The 290 intakte manifold really fits? Sure? Where is it screwed?

Ive read your thread a few times getting very angry becouse i was in our local TÜV place talking to those noobs putting an 605 vor 606 turbo into my 124 but they said no way because these engines were not available in this car. Maybe youve found an intrested tuv wich u can recommend.

Greetings from the westpoint oft germany .

Hi!

I don't know if it will fit into 190 engine bay... But flange is the same - after all 290TD is still 2 valve OM602 Smile At least fits OM602 Big Grin

TÜV - you need to find the right guy, speak the right words and bring the right paper stuff. They do love paper! He doesn't know yet abpout the OM606, but I'm positive that I can get this eingetragen Big Grin I'm somewhere in the middle of Karlsruhe & Freiburg, close to Straßbourg.

2 or 3 years ago i built my own collector
first i thougt about to use the G Wagon collector but later i made the experience that it doesnt fit really good
in originale as turbo delivered cars the water tank is placed on that place the G collector has its income
so i welded my own
you can lool it on w124-freunde T modelle meine kleine italienerin.
or in the w124 board.
how much hp will you achieve?
i think roundabout 200 the original gearbox can handle
greets

Got some news Smile

@ Diseasel Weasel
Why your talking about 190 engine bay, its a good old 124 Tongue
The budget isnt like the universe, so i will try to use the g intake ( i think the flow would be very nice becouse the ic mount is in the middle of it and it would be shorter than the 290 intake). if it wont fit the 290 intake would be the best opinion Wink

@uli124125
my 124 is na om602, i bought by mkam in kerpen a whole om602 turbo "set" with all the differenz to na so if the turbo watertank wouldnt fit with g intake the na watertank would stay.

On sunday i got a little trip to bochum to meet swatmugga with his red sleeper Cool
Nice working car, good power but fu*** original suspension Big Grin Big Grin Angel
He sold me his Valeo kit, so i think i will not go with the 717.430! I m thinking about 616.654 Wink that would resist any power from 602 to 606. I m not interested in changing gearboxes like underwear!

Another up is, the hx40 is to big for om602 so i orderd a used hx35 ( where could i buy a repair kit for hx35 if theres anything on it?)

If some one is intrested in the nearly brand new holset hx 40 t4 pm me Wink

But there are bad news too,
i have to drive with my merc in holiday in 2 month so the engine change has to wait Angry
