Got my Dieselmeken 7.5 IP yesterday and wanted to know what would be my best option for a 300 hp fast spooling turbo? No racing here but want my truck to pull nicely and still get good mileage. I'm thinking a super HX30W or a small compressor side HX35W. I plan to start with an adapter on my stock OM606.962 manifold (until funds build up for a full tube exhaust header), 3-4" exhaust with a low restriction muffler and of course a decent IC. I haven't had any luck sourcing a super HX30W so far. Thanks for any input.

A 4" exhaust will be a hotdog down a hallway. 3" should be fine unless you're a horrible fabber and don't use mandrel bends.

I think the small compressor hx35 will get you to 300hp. I got the hx35 small compressor (in a box still, waiting on cold weather before I install) to get somewhere near the 300 mark with street friendly spool on my 603 motor. I'm going to use 2 external wastegates though because I don't like how the W turbo wastegates only vent half the scroll. This isn't a problem with the stock manifold but if you get a tubular divided manifold, one half of the motor will have higher backpressure than the other.

I've kicked around the idea of twin turbos using the 2 piece cast om606 na exhaust manifolds (3+3).
I'm really surprised I haven't seen it done yet! It seems so easy to mod the manifolds & buy some cheap small turbos and viola! All the pipe work would be small diameter (easier to buy, bend, route, etc)...

I have a manifold that is a stocker with a cast bend to make a Hx35 work. I also have a billet hx40 hybrid 16cm BD Performance hotside. I really loved this turbo. Pm if interest.

Is this the adapter you have? http://www.dieselpumpuk.com/shop/manifol...-adaptors/
I assume yours is T4-open?

.....I can't upload. Email me at Tim@TurboTims.com and I will send you pics. I would sell turbo and manifold for slightly more then he charges for adapter.

A Holset from a Cummins 4BT perhaps? It's the smaller frame version than the HX35 fitted to the 6BT, but I can't remember what exactly.. lol
Because you're in the U.S. of A. I think it's common, cheap and available, just the way I like my women.

Installed:

OM606/722.6, big IC, W220 brakes.
Planned:
DIY manifold, compound, 722.6 controller, built IP.
[i]Less rust..

I'm looking into a SuperHX30. Can't seem to source one. Any help sourcing from the US or Europe would be  great help. I do think you're right that the 4BT comes with an HX30. I'm probably going to start with the smallest hot side HX35 I can find that will still get me 300hp with early spool.

What about a Garrett GT3076R like this one on craigslist? Seems about the right size and with the Tial SS housing it's a pretty good price.

Not mine! No association with seller!

The smallest HX35 is still a 12mc2 housing, one down is a HY35 which has a 10cm2 undivided turbine but with same compressor, they are fitted to the around y2k Dodge Ram 5.9, I see them go on ebay USA for 100 bucks all day long and it makes me cry because nobody wants to ship to EU.

A HX will be quite a laggy 300hp daily, hence my suggestion.
