S124 TDT ----> 606.962
Well hello guys!
This will be my winter project, bought this 744 silver 93 turbo wagon last week. Almost a rust free car and engine already removed.
I bought a 606turbo a few months ago, the plan is to fit the 606 with 722.6 auto from 270cdi and Olefejer controller.
The famous 606 turbo!
Here I have fitted the servo pump from a om603 n/a engine (a bolt on fit)
Reinforced my enginestand with the help of a jackstand.
Here I have removed the belt, the wiscocupling and AC compressor.
I have started the remove some thing to access the electric IP
Here I have removed the intake manifold.
Here I have removed the fuellines.
Waccum pump removed.
Timing was set to 14-15 ATDC
This is the pump that will be sent to Göran also know as Dieselmeken.
(08-30-2015, 12:54 PM)Tito Nice build! I had the same problem with the enginestandMy plans are either to go with the brand new Holset HX35 I have or buy my mates brand new GT40 I don't know which will one will be the most suitable.
What turbo will you be using?

(08-30-2015, 03:31 PM)Tito Well, I had a 603 with hx35 and the spool up of the turbo was about the same as the stall speed of the torque converter. Did some awesome burnouts! But I don't have any experience with other brands though.

So I went and bought a "new" interior for my car, as the seats that where in the car is the old style seats wich are not that comfy.
And as the car was partly with gray interior I also begun to convert it in to black.
Finnished cleaning and assembled the interior this week. Also ordered:
HX35 flange.
Gaskets to the turbo.
Weldingnut for the EGT sensor.
Cupper exhaust manifoldgasket.
3-4" downpipe adaptor.
4"V-band with flanges.
Exhaustmanifoldbolts and cupper nuts.
And 722.6 Gearbox from 320cdi.

Do you have a supplier link for a COPPER exhaust manifold gasket?
Beer.

Yeah man leather is a must in a s/w/c124!
Of course I have a link! The copper gasket is 450sek.

So when the exhaust manifold was removed a bolt broke and I used my welder to get it out!
I also testfitted my new turbo manifold with new exhaust bolts, copper nuts and copper gaskets. I also added some pics of my turbo
And some other parts also arrived like new clips for the fuel lines/pipes and new intake gasket and inj pump o-ring. A 3-4" exhaust adaptor, 4" V-band and som flanges for the hx35 downpipe, oilfeed and oil return.
I have fitted the exhaust manifold, turbo and also started putting on some heat bandage. The intercooler was slightly to wide so I was unable to mount it as high as I would like. And ofc some pictures!
I will also swap the dieselfilterholder and the lift pump on the injectionpump so I get the banjobolt type fitting. A friend came by the garage and I swapped a set of wheels for a new Garret GT40 it's supposed to be good for around 450-500hp, so if the hx35 isn't big enough I'll swap to the gt 40.
Could Some one confirm IF the converter from a 320cdi fits the om606 "flywheel"
And also IF someone would be so kind to give me the partnumber for the dipsticktube for the 766.2 transmission and maby a dealerprice for IT thanks!

(10-11-2015, 01:59 AM)Kuisma Exhaust manifold made by Jimmy? Looks familiar.
Well it's slow progress here!
I have managed to find the shifter that will fitt w124 from the 202 chassi and a TPS. Still waiting for the 606 converter and dipsticktubing for the transmission. Also waiting for a new radiator with internal cooler for the transmission.
Next job inline is to reinforce the camshaftgear and the pulley on the crank. After that the engine and gearbox will go in to the car ?
And yeah I also fitted the engine blockheater (a must have during the winter here in Sweden)
Hi!
Did the cam sprocket reinforceing yesterday it went as planed
Also mounted a new oilpreassure sender since the om606 ain't got one.
I did run in to some problem because I'm missing the banjobolt to the dieselinlet in the pump, do you know what size its surposed to be? My plan is to run electric feedpump so I also need the outlet banjobolt without the restriction in it.
Next step is to do the bellhousing swap on the gearbox
