Hello guys I'm new here and already pretty amazed about the potential of OM.. engines!
My first car was w126, then I got myself w202, than w210 ... but they all had patrol engines. I'm thinking to build myself w126 with some sweet om606 with a lot of toque on low rpms. I am not interesting in going 130mph on the autobahn. It is quite seldom that I hit 100mph mark. What I would like to have is the very good pool right from the basement and without black smoke. I know there is all the information I need on this website and I am reading through the builds and learning a lot .. but please could someone point me the direction I should be looking at. I am thinking to get me w210 E300td and get the whole thing to work and than transplant it to w126. Just some questions that are killing me

1) For my purpose Supercharger + 2 small turbos? or would it be enough to get just the turbo(s)?

2) What power should I expect if I dont want to see the black smoke from the back? lets say 700nm / 520 ft lb from 2200 till 4800 rmps?

Thinking also to get w202 c250 to play with it and get the skills ... its like poor mans OM606 Project, but those cars are really cheep here in Germany and as understand I don't have to change the gearbox on the car.

hi Mannheimer,
schön noch jmd aus deutschland hier zu sehn Wink
I think a good option to start with this turbodieselthing is to get a c250 td. Since they are that cheap in germany you can´t really do anything stupid Big Grin
About your question with big power and torque at low rpm i can´t help you really. But as far as i know power comes with higher rmp in every std i´ve seen till now.

Whenever there is smoke, there is not enough air, so solve that as you prefer. Supercharger stages, or compounded small & big turbos together. I think this second option is the best way and I am building that at the moment. Also the 606 fits into the 202, the autos have the same 722.6 box. ( Use the 605 mounts)

Installed:

OM606/722.6, big IC, W220 brakes.
Planned:
DIY manifold, compound, 722.6 controller, built IP.
[i]Less rust..

Thanks, will keep up with your project.
How much torque could handle 722.6 from c250?
the one from 300td is good for 330nm an the one from 320cdi for 580.
At least those are official numbers.
I don't think that they made the gearbox from c250 stronger than the one from e300
