This is my project. Its a 1963 Comet. I a have built the front suspension to utilize all Mustang parts, struts, ball joints, brakes, rack and pinion, etc. I am just starting on the rear suspension which came from a 1996 thunderbird, it will be all independent. The driveline is a 1985 OM617 with the automatic. Precision Turbo rebuilt and upgraded the turbo. I will be using the cruise control, and A/C from the Mercedes.

That is the WEIRDEST engine swap I've ever seen and I couldn't possibly love it any more than I do.

Awesome project. I have a 66 Mercedes 4 door I'm going to do something like this to in the near future. I'm hoping to buy a complete 98/99 e300 turbodiesel and swap most everything over to "modernize" it. That way maybe my wife will be more into it. Thanks for sharing.

This is the first update I have had in a while. Been busy racing and rehabbing from wrist/hand surgery. The rear IRS is done.

Some updates. I only work on this when I am bored. So its taking a bit longer then expected. But its really turning out kool.
The rear suspension is just about done. Waiting on axles. the trunk is also close to finished.
I installed vintage air and heat.

I had to modify quite a bit to put the rear IRS and big tires in the car.
