1997 OM606 in w210, where to connect turbo gauge
Hello
When I had W124 I connected turbo gauge to ALDA.
Where do I connect a 3 way splitter to what vacum line ? or do I have to drill a hole and socket to intake manifold. Is there a rubber hose 2mm diameter with boost going out from intake manifold ?> i cant seem to see it.
I connected in the place of a red dot, but it seams to be negative vaccum not positive turbo pressure.
Dial is going down instead of up.
please advise.
I know the gearbox gets pressure from intake manifold ?
The pipe where the red dot is a vac/boost line for the MAP sensor - its connected to an output on the pipe just below the plenum, I would still suggest you tap another feed probably on the same pipe as then the MAP boost signal is clean. There is also an intake temp sensor on that pipe which fits into the pipe - you might just be able to repurpose that.
The pipe with the red dot will always be showing vacuum until its under load - the ECU controls the vacuum wastegate (not boost controlled) when it needs, you can't get it to produce boost on idle as the wastegate is 100% open.
closing topic. It works . I did cut the ruber line where there is red on the picture, and put a 3 way adapter. Than connected it all together with boost gauge. It works. I drove it today amd shows max 15 psi. Stock KKK turbo so far. Will see after i change to HX35 what hapens.
I doubt anything will happen before I remap to use full potential of 6mm elements.

I routed it throu firewal under brake "BAS round thing". There is a small ruber plug in a 2cm hole. I poked a hole in it. Then it does over the pedal cluster and to the ashtray.
I belive that if there are no leaks, the pressure inside the tubes will rise almost as fast. This are small diameter tubes. I dont care about 0,2s lag.
