(05-11-2015, 04:17 AM)maxypriest I’m now beginning to mess around with the stock settings as I did notice that the power dropped off at higher revs so I increased the fuelling and that sorted that out.
Also the boost rose from 2.2 to 2.5 bar and max recorded EGT from 590 to 605 Degrees C.
So then I increased the duty on the boost controller from 25 to 40% and the boost has dropped back down to 2.2 bar?!
The car still went like the clappers.
Figure that one out?!

(01-22-2016, 08:31 AM)In the end I found a massive boost leak. So I also tested the WG actuator and that operated at 2.7-2.8 bar, so then I disconnected the electronic boost controller and now i have a reliable 2.8 bar boost and loads of power and less smoke. I think ill sell the boost controller as it all work well and is dead simple.(05-11-2015, 04:17 AM)maxypriest I’m now beginning to mess around with the stock settings as I did notice that the power dropped off at higher revs so I increased the fuelling and that sorted that out.

Could be EGP overcoming WG actuator spring preload and WG opening by itself.

Yes, that was after I found the boost leak, which I then fixed. Went down the road to warm her up and thought I'd vid my reaction to what ever the car would do with WOT. Got so excited I went for 7th gear....
You can hear how it pulls in top. Remember, 6th is 31mph/1000rpm.....
Thanks.
The interior is black leather and walnut an as like new. No wear at all, honestly I'll do you a short vid to show.
2.87 - 1995 multivalve diff.
You lot would have loved this - Took the old Merc to RAF Woodbridge yesterday for a top speed event.
Lots of very fast stuff there and the w124 was easily the most boring /sensible car by a country mile.
On of my mates came along and he was at the start line when I pulled up for my first run against a 997 turbo - he later reported back that there was lots of "what's that crappy old merc doing here?" ... and "is that a bloody diesel?" banter.
Lots of smoke and by the time I got in 3rd where I can give it WOT with out traction issues he said the banter turned to "that's really shifting!"
Official - 174mph, I hit the Rev limit on the fuel pump a long way before the end (1.35miles later) so a longer diff should yield 180's. She was smooth as silk at the top end. Brakes now completely buggered.
When I got back to the start area I got a little round of applause and smiling faces / laughing.
Everyone loves a sleeper.
Now looking for a 2:65 diff with a ABS sensor in it.

Superb this is, I have watched your video's before possibly on the retro rides forum I think?
Could you give some more information about what or who you used for the clutch in your car as I notice it's still an organic type which I also plan to use.
What pressure plate was it you went with in the end the 765 one with modded flywheel?
Check this one out! Chap called Matty took it and its a corker. Fly by at 174, and the noise!!!! - 'Gas Turbine' as it approaches followed by 'old school bimmer straight six' as she leaves.
Can't tell you how chuffed I am with this car. I'm going to make a low clearance silencer for the mid section and do some more sound proofing, but even as she is its usable with the family and luggage. And its great on fuel - ave about 37mpg at the moment.
Clutch is a custom HD sprung organic with a modded flywheel and SRE 765. Seam like a great combo - no slipping what so ever.
