Hi,
I drive a 04 sprinter 211 mwb low roof,It has the 2.2 cdi rated around 109 bhp and find it a little under powered
Dose anybody know if its possible to upgrade the turbo on this engine? I plan to get the ecu remaped at least.
Dose this model respond well to tuning and changing turbos ect.?

In the future i would like to install the engine from a E300 TD om606? as i can pick up a 1998 working car for less than a replacement 2.2/2.7 cdi engine. I am not to well up on codes and models yet,I recon it will fit took a few measurements, and tune this up properly to have a smooth powerful tow horse?

What do you lads think? Any advice or information would be very welcome

Regards .

The E300 engine would not fit. A turbo from a 270 or 320CDI would be a good upgrade, nearly bolt-on too. C30 AMG CDI injectors are expensive, but also a good upgrade. Any good diesel tuner should be able to reprogram your ECU to match them.

200hp should be pretty easy with those, maybe without the AMG injectors.

Thanks For the reply,So the 2.7 cdi uses a different turbo than whats on my 2.2.I will look into sourcing one,

You are probbaly right about the e300 engine not fitting, without modifing the bulkhead that is,Maybe I could use the pre cdi 2.9 5cyl engine,Or maybe the 2.5 turbo diesel om602 correct me at any time,

Basicly Im looking for a strong engine to install with the view to tune it for a healty turn of power and tourqe,

I'm sure you could, but those would be a pretty big downgrade over a CDI, even your 2.2.
