Hi guys.

After buying a E55 AMG torque converter (which didn't fit the 606 722.6 bellhousing) I bought a 320CDI torque converter and guess what? It's also too big. Such a shame....

http://www.marktplaats.nl/a/auto-onderde...ousPage=lr

Now, before I take any more guesses, will this one fit? It's from a 270cdi which had the 606 bellhousing right? It's rather cheap. But I don't want to throw away any more money and hoping it will fit.

The website is the Dutch version of Craigslist and has the part numbers.

to answer your question yes a 270cdi torque converter will fit

i was able to get a remanufactured Dacco MC18S
sent from a usa company cheaply throught the global shipping program.
might be worth looking into, worked out cheaper than a 2nd hand one locally or from uk

this link shows all internationally shipped items

I have 320CDI converter with om606 and it is the same size as converter from 300td. Only difference is bolt pattern to flexplate, I have custom made flexplate to make it fit. Maybe 270cdi has the same bolt pattern as 300td, then it will fit without changing flexplate.

270cdi converter has same bolt pattern as 606 flexplate, just got mine done at local shop (one more plate to the lock and normal service) and did trial fit it before that it fits perfectly.

320cdi converter I have too, that has different bolt pattern, like erx said. But I didn't test does it fit to the 606 bellhousing..

Wut? There's no way in hell I can fit the 320cdi converter in the 606 housing for the 722.6. Did you modify something?

Or maybe a different converter because the bolt pattern on the 320 converter I have here fits the 606 flex plate.

I bought box with converter from 2004 E320CDI, box code is 722.626. I swapped the bellhousing and I use the same converter. Converter was exactly the same size as from 300td, only differences are that newer converter from 320CDI doesn't have drain plug and six bolt holes to flexplate have about 5mm different pattern. Maybe you have converter from newer 722.9 7g-tronic or some other model. Look what code do you have on converter.

can you measure this torque converters in bigger diameter, so we all know how big they are ... will be nice if we have torque converters bolt pattern, and diameters.
