OM 603 606 Plastic Fuel Lines
OM 603 606 Plastic Fuel Lines
Since the banjo ends are barbed, is there a fuel line/hose available that matches the stock line and will stay attached to the hose-ends? Or, is there a suitable replacement hose that may be clamped?
Zeeman, did you ever come up with a solution, or did you simply order replacement hoses from the dealership?
Bumping this back to the top. I've broken one of my plastic fuel lines. Since I have a new pump on the way, I'm thinking about replacing all of the lines, since I have no reference for how stiff/brittle these lines should be (note: everything rubber on my car is brittle, as if the car was baked at some point in time...).

Funny you should bring that up again. I am at that point again trying to find replacement hose instead of buying all new complete hoses which are expensive.
I am told that they are Viton hoses and are metric. My local foreign parts store has referred me to a hose supply near me to see if they can come up with that size.
Up to this point I have been buying all the 603 fuel filter housings I can find with the hoses still attached that are in good shape. I change the housings on the OM 606 conversions I do when using the 603 IP pump.
There is also some hose on e-bay but no sure of the metric size needed.
I need to follow up on this for a solution.

and its 7mil not sure if u can aquire that stuff any where, but one good substitute is air compressed tubing, wich any truck store have in many sizes and shapes and colours , i dough they have colorless

That is not hose, its tubing made of nylon, more comonly refered as teflon.

Push fit pneumatic hose is nylon and good and cheap to use.
***But be aware, some coloured pneumatic tubing is made from poly vinyl type stuff and it NOT compatible with diesel, if its translucent it will definitely be nylon.

As barrote says, it's nylon, which is compatible with diesel (not petrol though).
Push fit pneumatic hose is nylon and good and cheap to use.

Assuming that the size could be found, I've used motorcycle fuel hose for both gas and diesel. That is what our fleet mechanic recommended, and has used on our forklifts. Cheap and easy to find, plus for the custom crowd it comes in a variety of colors (including clear)

I would think it would be pretty low with the IP pump lift pump pressure. under 10 psi ? I know the bypass return line valve is set under that.

On the vacuum side then upto 15psi (atmo) so probably about 15 on the pressure side.

Just go to the next MB-Dealer, for my 602 Build i got 1 Meter for free from my Partsguy at Mercedes.
Only thing is that the "new" Version of the Fuelline is black instead of translucent.
