1987 190d 2.5t om602 engine for sale.
1987 190d 2.5t om602 engine for sale.
I have a om602 that I am thinking about selling, I have acquired a om606 and will be starting the build once I get my tranny and other goodies in from Fred at F-tune performance. I have the engine still in the car and was leaving it in for the time being for the possible buyer to hear, feel and touch before buying. Is there any interest in this engine out there? The engine will be attached to a 722.4, I also have 722.6 that came from the e300 om606 that is for sale also.
I will tell you, this time last year I would have loved to have that engine for my formerly owned 16v. As for a West coast price I can't help you. GLWS and your build
I have a 1987 190D 2.5 5 cyl Turbo-Diesel I bought about 3 months ago from Arkansas I had it shipped to Los Angeles, CA. it's got just 220k miles. How many miles on your engine. I might want a spare just in case. The owner was a mechanic at a Mercedes shop in Arkansas.
I had to replace the 4 shocks / Strut Cart and Starter and Fuel gauge sender, but other than that it's pretty mechanically sound. 1/2 tank of diesel costs me $20. I usually use only $10 per week in fuel or $40 per month.
Plus these drive trains had the lower rear diff. gear of 2.80 instead of the 3.11 or 3.14 so it turns much lower rpm on the freeway at 75 mph I'm turning 2900 RPM, while my 1986 2.5 non-turbo was turning 3000 rpm at 65 mph.
On these models mercedes and all german cars (VW) included made and geared them for our 55 mph speed limit back in 1986-1987 so 4th gear is 1:1 and 4th gear is not reduced except for those with manual transmission, 5th gear was reduced on the manuals.
The engine doesn't smoke at all, and doesn't use oil at all. even under acceleration at night, you know how the car behind you head lights might show
white smoke from a diesel on acceleration from a red light stop. I still don't see any smoke. So I'm pretty sure the engine and Turbo are both in good shape.
The trans was rebuilt by a reputable shop.
$1400 is way too high about twice as high. When I retired dad who I gave my 1991 E300 TD 2.5 5 cyl Turbo diesel wrecked it in the rain by rear ending someone, I sold that engine (which was recently rebuilt including a BRAND NEW DEALER TURBO cost $800, I sold the entire engine turbo included for $500; local pickup before I scrapped the car with a pick-your-part junk yard)
Two questions: how many miles on it???? and what is a realistic price???, because shipping is going to cost a hefty fee also???
