mystery part?
mystery part?
hey fellas, Im "new" here but have been lurking around here for a long time.
I have a question for you om617 pros out there.
I have a 94 toyota pickup with an om617 swapped in. well....I blew the engine (a combination of the oil pressure gauge crapping out and a oil cooler line parting) Anyway, I sourced a new engine and had it shipped up. it showed up clean and fully dressed, ready to drop in. thing is, it has a component on the front of the engine block that my other engine does not have, and I can't seem to find even another picture of this thing let alone any info on it.
it attached right to the engine block just to the left of the power steering pump. its shape is circular with wedge shaped (cooling??) fins on the face of it. kind of looks like a cross section of an orange, if that makes any sense?
it has 2 lines that come out of it.... one has a banjo fitting like a fuel line? the lines are still attached, but i don't know where they would have gone and attached to?
ill try and attach a picture here, but I'm comupter retarded, so bare with me please!
any help would be greatly appreciated!!
thank guys.
regards, Bondo.
A wagon - or a sedan with self leveling rear suspension (though sedans with SLS are rare).
That head is worth about 300 for the core, and over 1100 fully rebuilt (if It isn't cracked).
