BOV for om617a
BOV for om617a
Well the no need for blow off valves on diesels isn't totally correct. If you would put a big charger on it, such as a hx40, I guarentee it would surge while letting off under hard throttle, which can be prevented with a blowoff valve. But that just protects the turbo, it's not really needed
And how are you guys setting up said BOV since there is no vacuum source?

....Yeah you let me know how that works....
The better way I thought about doing but never tried since not really needed anyways was to just use EGP for the control line to just hold it shut.
So what happens if you partially let off gas. Turbo still fluttering there.
I do like the picture though!
You know you want boost pressure to close the valve when on throttle though so you may want to add more stuff to your picture.
Most guys use a control that has boost input on one side, and EGP on the other. Therefore when you chop the throttle boost overcomes EGP and opens the BOV.
I've never used one, but I've read several guys on comp D are using them
