Dynoed my HE351VE
Dynoed my HE351VE
I made 360 whp and 515 tq with a 75 shot of spray. It was on a mustang dyno but still expected more. I only reved to 6200 and it was climbing in hp but only about 10 more I bet. If someone doesn't try the 10 blade hx40 turbine wheel I am going to soon. Tired of only being able to get 32 psi boost. Kinda wanna put an hx52 wheel in compressor side also and just get it over with.
I'm camping now but I will when I get back later today. Peak tq was right after I sprayed at 3k and peak hp was at 6.2k when I stopped run but looked like it was pretty much flat lined by then
I am looking at the graphs and they set them up super shitty. They are time based so its kinda worthless. They did give me my first run and that has HP plotted but I only did the pull to 5k. It was a dyno day for our MB club so I think one of the owners employees who barely knew how to use the dyno was there....I wish I would have looked at these earlier....
I would go with the turbolabsofamerica upgrade. Priced well, and I've heard good about them. 360hp with nitrous is kinda disheartening. But I know a lot of cummins guys fight the same battle with EGP on the holset vgts. Maybe poor turbine design? Not sure
Yes max psi is 32psi. Back pressure just gets higher as I close vanes but boost doesn't really go up until I start to open vanes. I think I had 28psi EGP to make 32psi boost. Closing vanes gets higher egp and boost falls.
Never had Lambda on a diesel. What should it actually read?
On such diesels as we all drive here, Lambda goes in the direction of 1 .. I think, lower than 2 but in a clean diesel, it is higher...
I thought it was a fuel issue at the time but it was really I had the vanes closed to tight and it would surge the turbo and stall it out. Just assumed it was starving of fuel so I redid the whole system but still did it. Messed with vane positioning and quit doing it.
I did turn my fuel down to just keep EGT at a level more to my liking but maybe I should turn it back up especially since EGT's drop with the NOS.
I have Ole's controller but I have been using just a spring to hold the channel shut at idle then back pressure spreads the channel open. Its the best system I got working so far! Hopefully Ole gets his controller working better as I could get better low end if I could have tighter spring off idle.
