Hi Guys,

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on painting the gearbox i am putting in, if its worth it. I am painting the block gloss black and also painting the manifolds and cam cover etc atm.  any advise would be great thinking of etch primer first and then some heat resistant black.

Thanks

If wearing the lacy underwear makes you feel more confident, do it!

If the housing is made out of aluminum, you will need a special primer suited to prime / stick to aluminum. Also, because it is most likely pretty oxidized, you're looking at some sanding to get it clean enough to paint. Not a horrible job, but still a few hours just to get it ready to prime.
