dynamic injection timing.
dynamic injection timing.
Ok.,
Couple of questions. One is does anyone have a good recommendation for dynamic injection timing equipment for the small lines on an om606. And what kind of timing are people shooting for on performance settings on the high output numbers.
I think most people who are making big power are setting timing by ear. I think I ended up around 15 if I remember.
its not too expensive to get a timing light adapter now. i have heard good things about the ferret adapters you would have to find one that has the right size sensor for the injector line. another use might be to check the centrifugal advance against rpm.

if u use the timing light , the best number is 18.5º . engine at idle speed.
basically upon Reading OT at harmonic damper scale the box should read 18.5 º advance. this is a number for start playing with , cause this engines may run from 10 to 35º , there is a point when u can hear the idle rpm going above slightly, that is the best position for TQ then one can increase slightly to 2/3 degrees . on demand
