Anyone tried to turn up a deiselmeken pump?
Anyone tried to turn up a deiselmeken pump?
Just turning up my tq control capsule made a huge improvement. My pump is a 160cc pump. I am thinking about turning up the max fuel screw for even more power. Anyone else have any direct experience with this?
Lol,
if u already have a 160cc pump, weather is 7.5 or 8mil , most probably is giving max rack travel, or very close. sort of speaking changing settings in the bottom of the governor won´t change the rack travel, or maybe it changes a couple of mm.
But nothing like trying , moving the bottom screw wont afect the basic governor setting , changing settings in the tq capsule yes. it will most probably give u idle problems.
This pumps, are most afected by the TQ capsule, cause the device is suposed to cut fueling with the engine under load configuration. it can be set to stop doing that, and on doing so the rack position will determine fueling , wereas to say that is proportional to pedal position.
in my opinion the black smoke , is placebo efect, cause in the end the governor will allow the fuel to go in, later on.
if u want to turn the tq capsule iniperative, pm me.
regards
Barrote you said the same thing about my tq controle capsule and I went from 30psi to 38psi. I used to want to beleive you but there have been many times where you have been wrong. So what is the difference with a 180cc or 200cc pump if they both have 8mm elements?
The diference is very simple , there is some governors wich can throw the rack at 22mm and other 20,5 besides that u have the idle trick, is where u can set idle!!!(assuming u want max fuel, either way the pump with 8mm can be set to stock fueling)
Imagine , having two pumps with same elements, one governor rs201(found in 605N/A) and other rs157(usualy 603 ).
what is the diference, many!!! In the rs201 idle can be set a 6mm rack with very fine quality, and it can throw the rack 22mm.
The 157 , only accepts idle at 7mm and throw the rack 20.5 mm . Like this u can have as much as 50cc output diference.
Every pump is a pump , more or less tricks.
The Tq capsule defines, part load conditions changing the position on the tq capsule modifies all the setings. nevertheless if the pump had 150cc in the bench turning at 3k it will do the same in the engine.
The TQ capsule is dificult to set in the bench, if u look carefully at a pump calibration data sheet , there´s no info on the TQ capsule setings beside the gap size and rack position with it installed.
(lets say that if u remove the capsule and install a bolt in the same position , your pump will loose part load ability).
regarding wanting to belive me, well take a guess ...
So is there harm in trying? Will it just raise idle? I did notice that mid RPM range is way more smoke with TQ capsule turned up. Its so much fuel it almost over fuels and slows combustion.
In my opinion NO.
But the engine will run as flood condition expecially without boost, when boost comes problem will disapear. same happens for the alda,
u sure can remove it, or the external device. the result is the same. (smoke heheh smoke curtain ....)
without part load control and ALDA devices , is like pushing the rack by hand , (more or less).
But will I get more top end fuel like I need....I can alway turn my external ALDA down more.
U know something,
why dont u take the pump in a diesel shop, and watch the pump limits!!!
If it is already in the limits, my bad ...
if not tune it in such a way that u can have idle in the 6mm rack and full rack , weather to say full travel.
Very important, watch output at 2.5 k and 3k , or above if its able to pump anything decente above that.
Like this u will be 100% sure on the output. and its limits.
Maybe I should just get more 8mm elements with my old electronic pump and a Buldur's ECU and try to calibrate it myself.
Well, whatever decision ,
The EDC is just a M with a electroactuator and a feedback system.
In my opinion a Mech regulator M will put out 20/30% more fuel, if tunned properly, nevertheless both of them have to be correctly balanced and sincronised.
