Hi folks I need to get the pump sorted out on my om605 turbo conversion when I stumbled across the 2.9 musso pumps. The Bosch number on it is 662 07 07 001 and I am wondering are these proper mechanical no electric pump and do they have a normal alda. Will they be putting in too much fuel as I am only looking for a150bhp and I really need to keep the beast economical as it is my daily driver.
Thanks In advance for the help

It has 5.5mm elements, you'll see it in the numbers '55C', (the top numbers eg PES 5M 55C 320RS 191, which is on my pump) and if it's off a turbo Musso before and including '98, yes it has everything you need and is fully mechanical, although you should swap the 6mm elements out of the 605's pump if you want it to deliver the fuel for 150hp.

Thank you stig and Volker as I might just get my pump redone with the 6mm elements then as I was hoping to get the 150bhp out of her again as hopefully the economy would stay same or improve as I am having to hold the throttle down too much

That electrical switch on the side is to control the EGR system.

The 662 really doesn't perform well with the stock pump. The governor is designed in such a way that short of changing elements, there's really nothing you can do to get any fuel before 3000 RPM. Turning up the quantity by adjusting the screws on the back will get you high RPM power but minimal improvement in low RPM torque. I'd say 150hp is possible but it won't feel strong.
I've converted a number of 662 engines over here to use 605 EDC pumps with my ECU and the major improvement is that they start to drive like diesels, with big low RPM torque, something that wasn't possible with the stock pump (although with bigger elements I'm sure a skilled pump builder is capable of modifying the governor to get enough fuel from 1500RPM).

hehe is the same rsf as the other ones .... nothing diff apart from outside pheriferals.... that pump will rock a 605 with 6 mil elements ... altough the tq control has to be tuned ... but that is what everione does when tweaking a pump....
and of course some inner springs got to be changed too... Wink

The only reason I bought the engine was for the mechanical pump to uprate and fit to my om605.
I may try your ecu at a later date.
Thanks for the info
