Hey, so I'm going to put an OM648 oil pan on my OM606 to have the rear sump, and it seems from photos that the transmission bolt pattern on the rear of the OM648 block is the same as the OM606?

Can anyone confirm this?

The bolt pattern for the oil pans is slightly different, but if the OM648 and OM606 blocks have the same bolt pattern, I should be able to use an OM648 transmission (on an OM606 engine with the OM648 pan) without modification.

Thanks!

It is? I tought it was the V6 that had the different bolt pattern.

Found some photos of the back of the OM606 and back of the OM648.

Similar-- but not the same!

Strange. So the om648 have different pattern from the om612 engine?

Cuz i have a gearbox from a 270cdi on my om605. The bolt pattern line up but the gearbox are sticking out around the block.

OM 611/612/613 are the same generation but 613/648 has different and unique bolt pattern from another. 611/612 is the same as 606.
